Felix Wieberneit

Welcome!

My name is Felix Wieberneit, I am a PhD at Imperial, and co-founder at treefunder.

As a researcher, my interests lie at the intersection of Environmental Science, Economics, and Engineering. Currently, I am working on a theory surrounding the potential of distributed ledger networks to improve social coordination when faced with collective action problems. The hypothesis is that new types of digitally enabled institutions can help us stand up to coordination problems like the sustainability transition or the AI safety dilemma.

Next to research, I experiment with the translation of ideas into impact through value-driven entrepreneurship. My latest experiment is called treefunder. My team and I are part of a broader movement working towards a financial system that respects and safeguards nature. As part of this, we are developing infrastructure for impact investors to invest in nature conservation and restoration projects that create both financial and ecological returns.
